It's not just the drinks that make the Lord Roberts the most bar pub in Nottingham. It is the friendly, welcoming environment that's won it an army of supporters, who voted for them in Nottinghamshire Live's poll to determine drinkers' favourite city centre haunt.

The Art Deco pub, one of only a couple remaining in the city, has come on leaps and bounds since landlord Craig Pennington-Hayes took it over five years ago. For a start it looks very inviting. We never ever, touch wood, get any trouble at all, so it's nice and I think people like that.

If you've got views on people being different to yourself it's possibly not the pub for you. When Craig took it on inthe pub had been flagging after the previous tenants tried to turn it into a real ale pub. He changed the bar offering and punters flocked back.
