Photographer Lynn Friedman captured the festival also andthe photos are here. From sunrise to sunset, the streets come alive with the rhythm of live music on multiple stages, captivating art, and the flavors of gourmet food and beverages. This vibrant event invites everyone—from residents and community groups to sponsors, local businesses, exhibitors, and food vendors—to take part in a full day of culture, creativity, and connection.

But it almost didn't happen this year. In April, organizers announced that the event would be canceled for financial reasons, only to be saved by an unnamed donor.

But the future of the event may still be in doubt, and the biggest obstacle could be the city itself. Thousands carted around lawn chairs and squatted down on curbs for the first day of the Fillmore Jazz Festival on Saturday — a feat possible only due to an emergency funding rescue three months ago.
